You’d have to be living under a rock to not know that Kim Kardashian recently got married to basketball star Kris Humphries. The “news” was all over Hollywood, and Kim’s questionable fame and A-list wedding has deemed her the title “America’s Princess” by many. Not sure I can hop on board with that one, but it is interesting to see how the wealthy party it up nonetheless. The photos of this extravagant event were
released sold to People Magazine while the rights to her video footage were sold exclusively to E! -no shocker there, and yes I will admit, I am anxiously awaiting the special. No shame.
Anyway, as with any wedding, the big question of the day is “what will she wear.” Much like her sister Khloe, Kim chose Vera Wang as her designer for her wedding gown. Vera recently released sketches of her original design options for Kims dress. (all images from the Vera Wang site here)
And last but not least, the third dress was an ivory bias-cut crepe back satin gown with V-neck and circle skirt. For comparison sake, here is a picture of Kim in the real dress (well the top half at least, the best I could find on Google):
This ballgown was the dress Kim chose to walk down the aisle for her wedding. The mermaid dress was Kim’s second and was worn during the couples first dance. Even better than Vera’s press release of the original sketches is the recent news that now you too can own Kim’s dress – well at least a replica. Two of the three sketches are being released as part of the Vera Wang White line at David’s Bridal. This is big news for any die hard Kardashian fan out there. What’s even crazier about the buzz around Kardashian, her wedding, and the replica release – is that her David’s Bridal gowns will cost nearly double the replica of Princess Kate’s dress. Still, I will be interested to see what the dresses look like in real life – maybe a trip to David’s might be in order soon. In the meantime, I can’t forget to set the DVR – don’t want to miss a minute of this crazy family’s shenanigans
